I'm watching a video by Safiya Nygaard about the ZozoSuit and I wrote about that thing in my trend forecasting class this year and now I feel really advanced.

Anyways, there's one thing on my mind basically at all times these days, and to the surprise of many, it's not a hopeless scheme to get a guy to text me back but something of way more existential substance: My hair.

It's new, I bought it about two months ago, and I'm still absolutely fascinated by it. As you can probably see, it's not like I got a full-on Baywatch weave now, but it's the little things about it that make me so happy:

I can feel it in other places than my face. Recently, I used to only ever really consciously notice my hair when a) it was so windy it clung to my face like a climbing plant or b) when I breathed in too powerfully and almost choked on a strand being vacuumed into my mouth with the air. At all other times, it was just floating around my head like a lightweight ball of cotton candy. Now, right this moment as I am writing this, some of it is stuck in the back of my sweater, covering my neck and the place between my shoulder blades, while some of it - yes, there is so much that there is still something left - hangs down over my shoulders and upper arms. When I wore a sleeveless top the other day for the first time in a while, I could feel it graze my back and elbows constantly. I remember that sensation from back when I was a child, leaning forward with my knees pulled to my chest and covering my legs with my hair. This probably reads really creepily, but you have to understand that I almost forgot what that feels like.

Consequently, I don't freeze my head off anymore. One fun fact about having really thin hair that gets lifted off into space as soon as there is the echo of a breeze is that it does not have any warming function whatsoever, and that is actually the whole purpose of having hair on your body. Now, I don't get a burning pain in my ear everytime I have to spend time in the cold anymore, which is lovely. However, I've been out dancing the other day and I gotta say this is gonna be interesting when it gets hot outside, because I can't just throw all this up in a bun as casually as I could - I have to flip the tapes over and try to hide them with my own material because there's nothing less attractive than what looks like ten sticky tapes exposed all over your scalp. Oh well, you pay a price for everything.

When it gets tangled (and it likes to do that a lot), I can brush it thoroughly and feel like a princess. Do you know what happens when you brush my natural hair? It basically blow up into a cloud of nothingness that goes absolutely electric as soon as touched. New hair? Falls into soft, big waves that fan out over my shoulders. I still can't quite grasp the magic here.

When I wear a hoodie, (which I don't, but think early Nicole Scherzinger in PCD) I can actually pull out some hair from underneath it. When I look at pictures, I'm not shocked by the ends of my hair resembling a frayed carpet. When I lean forward, it actually hides my face (like in that scene in Twilight when Bella watched Edward in Biology class in secret, the book, not the movie, don't ask why that's on my mind). If a guy was ever to romantically tuck a strand of my hair back, he could do so without suddenly holding half of it (by the way, I have a lot to say about the whole "living with extentions while talking to guys"-topic so let me know if you'd like to hear it).

What I'm saying is, it gives me so much and asks for so little (leave-in conditioner, half an hour of blowdrying, some gorgeously smooth oil and a ponytail to bed, what a sacrifice. Oh and money, right, almost forgot about that) - what's not to love?

Love,

Rosy Smith

It's been a while, hasn't it? I blinked a little too much into the sun and now it is September, New York Fashion Week came and went and I still refuse to transfer into fall. Mainly because that would mean that I would have to get working on my various deadlines (for those who haven't been counting along with me for the last three years, I am graduating fashion school this fall - man, I can still remember those exhausted, ice-cream-craving Gilmore-Girls-binging winter nights in freshman year when I literally had no work to do except showing up and feeling sorry for myself), but also because I love summer and feel like I haven't spent enough time outside showing off all the pairs of sandals I keep buying (four pairs of shoes in a month, a personal record I think).

I have a thing for dots at the moment, is what I'm trying to say
But alas, in a series of coincidences I have already aquired tons of fall-appropriate clothes, so that's something to look forward to! And my Gosh have I been living sustainability or what: I dug up smart jacket-and-pencil-skirt-sets and oversized cardigans from my mom (she has a magical closet, seeing how I seem to have only just discovered a whole decade of power-dressing in there that I never laid eyes on before), got gifted a series of leather skirts and Parisian silk as a hand-me-down from a whirlwind socialite who went a bit overboard with her shopping recently and I got beautiful, dark bordeaux-colored pumps a size too big for me so they don't kill my heels (each summer I forget to tape my feet before walking around the city for hours in tight strappy sandals and each summer I am astonished how many blisters you can get on top of each other). And if that wasn't enough to make all my fellow materialists go mmh with label-lust, please sit down for the approaching:

Prom-dress-shopping! 'tis a little early for me to fully indulge in that, considering that I should whip up some sort of creative wisdom to be graded on before I think about getting a certificate. But my oldest friend is shipping off to nine months in Cambridge in a week, and we had to get her equipped with some fancy European cocktail gowns. The one we found the other day has an absolute charming 20s vibe to it, and it is such a specific color that we had to lounge it around with us to hunt down some shoes, and it just so happened that we found a match so perfect that the employees cheered for us with tears in their eyes. One of them threw in an anectode about a well-known TV presenter whom he had "literally just sold a pair to", as if we needed any more convincing. Ah, the high of handing out your credit card in exchange for something so pretty. I've never felt this good after working out, certainly. Well, at least not due to the physical activity.

By the way, I dared to try something out of some random online mag article recently. The tip went a little like "to get close to him, just pretend to brush something of his face and lean in, then let your fingers linger a bit". Those writers surely never tried this while being excited about that person. Because if they had, they would know that you'd be too scared to actually touch his face - like, who does that, it's so unsanitary - and instead opt for his neck, and hesitate to get out the sentence, and then you don't linger smoothly with your hand on his shoulder but kinda draw circles with the tip of your finger, and when you say "you've got something there" he steps aside and says "no I don't", 'causing you to fall over (because you were leaning in like the stupid article told you to do) and very non-seductively grabbing onto his arm to keep from collapsing onto his feet. And then you realize that he is probably self-conscious about the little fuzz that he has on his neck and which he thinks is what you meant, not getting that you straight-up lied in order to awkwardly touch him. So you drop the plan and proceed to drum onto his (very hard, I should mention) stomach, and honestly I wouldn't vow on that being a turn-on, but then again what do I know, I tried brushing away fuzz. The moral of the story is, if you're in gym clothes, don't try to pull any moves, because it is very hard to get your message across if it is not a hundred percent obvious to the guy already.

Now go out and get some sun before we're snowed in again!

Love,

Rosy Smith

....doesn't make you stronger.

(I just listened to Sara Bareilles' "Brave" and it inspired me. I feel like this song is the perfect excuse for anyone who's already on the verge of sending a risky text.)

If it doesn't kill you, and by "it" I mean great emotional distress, well, that just means one is obviously incapable of physically dying of a broken heart, and that's not even a medical miracle, because it happens rather rarely these days. All those romantic characters from Bronte (I don't know how to do these double dots above the e) stories who kicked the bucket probably weren't in such a good health condition to begin with. You know, pneunomia and all that jazz that comes with living near a moor while dressing in musselin.

One is not stronger. If one was, it wouldn't feel like it's killing them. If one was, they wouldn't have to think about cheesy phrases like that. They would just shine on in their newfound strongness and belt out Kelly Clarkson songs. But they're not, are they? I think it should be "what doesn't kill you shows you how weak you can actually be if you reaally try". Or "what doesn't kill you makes you witness your lowest point, heaving over the toilet because you cried yourself sick, in full consciousness".

Now said Kelly Clarkson song came on in my Spotify mix. That is one cruel coincidence. Well played. I still hate it.

Love,

Rosy Smith

PS: I love most other Kelly Clarkson songs, though. Her new album is great, for instance.

PPS: I got a weird pronoun thing going on here. I tried to be objective.

Once, when I was little and we were on vacation somewhere in the South of Europe, a man gifted me a rose. I say gifted, but what I mean is "exploited my innocent materialism to sell my dad a rose he didn't want to buy". Since then, my parents have told me a million times to just say no to people who seem to be giving you something for free on the street, because when you grab it, you buy it. A couple weeks ago I was approached by a rose vendor on a busy shopping street, and this time, being my responsible adult self now, I basically ran away. It was a proud moment.

Well, today I managed to spoil all of that progress, and in a bit of a way more pricey dimension than five bucks for a rose, too.

You see, I had just dropped of this weekend's visitors at the airport, and I was a little sad to be alone again, so my nose had probably turned a healthy shade of red, and I didn't have any makeup on so I looked like a twelve year old with a runny nose when I was walking past one of these airport pop-up spa stores (I always wondered who goes out of town to the airport to have an expensive facial) and the guy outside offered me a handcream. The plan was to take it and walk faster (a bit like running away, but more elegant). However, totally out of the blue, the guy asked me what I use for my skincare.

"Um. Micelle water?" Shoot, he got my weak point. I have the crappiest skincare ever, as you'll know if you read this. He sensed my fear, and I honestly can't remember how it happened, but I found myself on a stool with my wrists out and smeared with something creamy, nodding along to the guy explaining the wonders of the facial peel he was sampling on me. And it did sound like it made sense. And it did feel nice on my wrist. But seriously, what doesn't? After he showed me the matching toner, cleanser and moisturizer, I frantically tried to think of the perfect polite "goodbye and thanks but no thanks" phrase to get me the hell out of there. I could hear my parents' disbelieving moan echoing inside my head against the copious monologue of the sales g

uy that culminated in the much dreaded reveal of the price. It was ridiculous, at least for my personal taste (eg. I bought a baby moisturizer for less than a dollar because I felt like it was as good for sensitive skin as pharmacy bought stuff), and I thought I had won when I fake-sighed that I didn't have that much money to spend.

But oh, then he went all half-price on me (and I am painfully aware that this is probably the only legit price there is) and I considered the size of the product and the fancy effects he promised and the design of the packaging and the dawning realization that I was already in there for far too long to leave empty-handed and thought "oh well, I'm not gonna starve" and whipped out my card.

I just want to point out that I was emotionally vulnerable, all by myself, very insecure about my lack of proper skincare, and a sucker for luxury items. Also, the month of all gift-giving there is to a year is coming up, isn't it?

Maybe I should give it back as long as I haven't opened it. Maybe it isn't any good? It's called "D'Or Facial Peeling" by Gold Elements. Let me know until Friday if you got the inside scoop!

Meanwhile, I'll try to look as unapproachable as I can when walking by stores.

Love,

Rosy Smith

Now the whole autumn/orange/temperature-irritation madness is finally over, we can proceed to ignore that there is a whole other month before December and just pass the time pretending it's already appropriate to start piling up the wishes. In fact, it is for me, as it is gonna be my birthday in three weeks and four days - which brings us to the first poi
nt....

A vintagy dress to turn 21 in. As you may know, I take joy in making an absolute fuss out of my birthday, and I almost always buy myself a new dress for it way in advance. I'm pretty late with this year's choice though and just ordered it today. I think it's being shipped off from China (I scouted out this website named rosegal.com because they have loads of vintage inspired stuff and that's the theme I'm going for. I kind of see myself in a hazy cocktail bar with low chairs, looking up from my drink in my petticoat dress with dark eyes and fair skin. I may be also seeing myself in a black and white movie), so fingers crossed it will arrive in time for me to take it home (that's where I'm going for that weekend. I want to meet up with my loveliest friends in said hazy bar and roll our stockings down or something).

A small but kinda medium tote bag but square with a handle but also a strap to wear it crossbody. It's hard to describe, but it has to be that way. I don't even know where that need comes from, because it is a well-known fact that I'm a shoe and not a bag person, but I genuinely do not own anything similar (not sure if anyone does) and I think the last bag I got is from 2015, when I first went to college. So it's not like I'm being totally arbitrary here. We have one at the office by Karl Lagerfeld that I fancy, in pomegranate, which sounds so yummy that I feel obliged to want it. Speaking of red....

All Those Parcels, Nothing For Me

Red velours gloves. These ones I actually saw at &otherstories and they just got that Cruella De Ville vibe to them (without the puppy murdering part) that I think suits me. The longer I think about it, the more I want them. And it is getting pretty freaking cold pretty freaking quickly up here, too, so we're talking necessities and practicalness and stuff here.

Clear make-Up storage thingies. And kitchen storage mug thingies. And coasters, for God's sake. I've been left alone in the homeware section of a lifestyle store for way too long. Gotta keep in mind that I am in fact returning to live at home again for at least another year and won't need my own quiche casseroles. I don't even like quiche (but maybe I could buy some for someone for Christmas?)

Clear skin. It is the rule that when you come home visiting from another place where you're supposed to liven' it up on your own, you have got to look nothing less but stunning. It is also the rule that when you live alone, you (I) tend to eat all the bad (but how can it be bad if it feels so good?) stuff all of the time, so these two are a bit counteracting. My loveliest friend texted me lots of product recommendations this morning and I'm still trying to figure out what to put on when. It's like while some people are slow with reading, I am slow with skincare. I'm astoundingly lost. My usual regime is to buy random stuff I stop using after a week until I have a bad phase and buy something else.

As for last but not least, it is a secret, but I sincerely wish for it more than for everything I've mentioned, so root for me, pretty ple
ase. I'll be rooting for you, too.

Love,

Rosy Smith

Can I just say that

a) I've been logged out of my google and twitter and everything account for some reason.
b) I never log out, mostly because I'm lazy and also because I always forget my passwords.
c) I remembered the Google one but it failed me on Twitter.
d) My regular email account did not receive Twitter's link mails.
e) My other account did, though. A miracle is upon us.
d) The mails suggested I use my Twitter app to reset my password. Which does not sound like such a bad idea.
e) HOWEVER, the app requests me to type in my OLD password in order to reset it.
f) Why the hell would anyone want to reset their password if they freaking remember it?
g) Oh, now those emails work, huh.

Okay, now that is out of the way. Thus (I should've studied English), the past half hour was evidently not spent cleaning this place up. Which is a shame, considering that I

a) Felt gross when I came home so I hopped in and out of the shower without looking back (eg. wipe).
b) Got hungry because I spent ages doing a) so I stumbled out to the store across the street where I bought overpriced breakfast bars, shrimps and juice (the clerk has to be used to my weird eating habits by now. He even helped me carry my juice sixpack to the register. But he kept the change, which wasn't what I meant by "that'll do" when I handed him a larger sum. I meant "sorry but you'll have to calculate my change". I'll speak in full sentences next time). By nine pm, I finally ate, but I didn't get around to load the dishwasher yet 'cause I started my nighttime routine of Friends and chocolate.
c) Have not put any clothes back into the closets all week. Interestingly enough, all my closet doors are wide open, though.

I'm thinking about getting a grip right now and tidy, but I have to get up at seven tomorrow (in journalism, no one really starts working before half past nine usually (I'll get back on that in another story), so this is gruesome for me) because we're doing a shoot somewhere in town. I'll have to try and remember how to assist at that kinda thing. Last time, I was mostly sat on the sofa trying on pointy boots and zipping skirts open and closed. I'm guessing it won't be quite the same.

What am I gonna wear, by the way? I had my comfortable outfit on today already (leggins, but pretending they're those hip joggers, and my slouchy feelgood sweater, and ballet flats in a desperate attempt to look Audrey Hepburn perky), so it's gonna be a skirt.

Figured it out, thanks to the open closet. It's half past eleven now and I'm tired and I still have to memorize my train times for tomorrow. And wipe the shower, 'cause I can practically hear my parents telling me to do so from back home.

Nighty night, then.

Love,

Rosy Smith

PS: No, I don't speak Chinese. But I can look at the pictures.

Face Mapping. So, according to this, I'm stressed, my digestive system is all wrong, I'm either dehydrated or an alcoholic and definitely stuffing my face with greasy food. The latter might be true as I have developed an obsession with mini mozarella balls, but stressed? Okay, I'm not used to being in an office all day long, but whenever there's not much to do for me, I'm free to browse fashion-related websites for face mapping advice and call it research. That's the life, right?

Speaking of websites, I just read that cords are back in style on the-pool.com. I think I'm scared. Having had to wear cord pants since childhood, I've only recently (probably about ten years ago, though. I'm old.) escaped the order to wear them to "keep warm" and got to deliberately enjoy myself getting cold in my nylons. Cords make me feel boyish (when I was little I sometimes wore hand-me-downs from my older brother. Also, in the nineties, pants were not meant to have a shape. Whoever put shapeless pants on the runway - why, oh why?) and warm (duh, they served their purpose alright. But in school, we had a thing called heating. Well, most of the time) and slightly childish later on when all the cool kids started wearing jeans. Nowadays, I have to think hard about the last time I wore those, so maybe I should take a second thought on the cords as well? I mean, I own cord skirts. They're cute and seventy-sy. And I know I have some grey pants in that style, somewhere in the back of my closet at home. I could get them shortened (nothing compares to the dread of too-long pants against my shoes) and pretend they're velour. It might work. I'll keep you posted....

Oh great, now my desktop froze and on a window that is not work stuff (work stuff - that sounds like such a weird thing out of my ink). I just hit reset, probably losing publishing data in the width of the internet in the process. Oh, well.

Anyways, I have taken a special liking to the "Parenting Honestly" posts on the-pool.com. Even though I have no reason to read about parenting experience whatsoever, I enjoy the writing styles of the authors, I like cute stories about toddlers (that sounds so bad if you wanna hear it the wrong way) and I tear up constantly when all the motherly love hits me through the lines. Oh and my other discovery is a lipstick column on there ("Sometimes it's the little things" - it's over now I think but there's loads of posts to catch up on). It's actually touching on some quite tough subjects but it does it well, y'know what I mean?

By the way, this is not a paid for advertisment for The Pool. I wish. Ha.

Last but not least, I bought new shoes. They're brown, and when I saw them in the store and they didn't have them in my size in black, I asked myself: Don't I need a pair of brown shoes? Because you see, the only ones I own are my cowboy boots, and they're not exactly everyday-wear (but I should get them out more often, thinking about it). And I am a firm believer in the theory that you should have a list of staples that you're sure you'll be needing in your life so that you won't feel bad when you splurge on them because you have valid arguments that support your decision.

Boom. Bought 'em.

Love,

Rosy Smith

My dad asked me if I was going out the other night, 'cause I had my brightest red lipstick on, but unfortunately, my plans for the evening consisted of taping my mom's TV show (she was out dancing. Find the flaw). Anyways, I told him that's because I went to the hair salon. See, when you have to stare at yourself for an hour in unflattering light, you gotta do a little something pretty to your face. It worked quite well, actually. I got tiny corkscrew curls done with a scary looking hot tool (sometimes, the stylist, who's 16 weeks pregnant, got this spaced-out look in her eyes and smoke descended from my head and I'd get a bit worried, but let's face it, there's not much damage left to do to my hair, so).

Oh and while we're in the chair, let's all remember never to share a Cloud with a guy, even when you get married and have a kid, 'cause you may still break up and have to endure the fact that one day you look at your Ipad pictures and see a little (or a lot, depending on your ex's type) more of his new girl than you ever feared you would. And then your friend, the hair stylist, will be in danger to lose her job because she might not be able to withstand the urge to let the razor slip a little when he's coming to get his lying scalp fixed.

Fun fact, after having read way too many articles on people who've had strokes after going to the hair salon, I am honestly scared of getting my hair washed there. You know how it's, like, the most uncomfortable sensation on the planet when your neck is placed onto the rim of the sink? I tried to hold my head up hovering about it, but I lack the necessary muscles for that. So I just got really really tense and that made it hurt even more and then I tried to get myself to just relax and enjoy the back massage from the chair but then I thought "What if  I just said something it would safe me and if I didn't, something terrible will happen, due solely to the fact that I was too shy and too distracted by the freaking back massage to speak up?"

In the evening, I got a little headache and I had to ask my mom to do the FAST test on me and have her tell me that I'm completely overreacting until I could lay back and watch "The One In Barbados" (thinking about it, I could go finish that now).

Now my hair is alarmingly short but I've learned to accept that a long time ago, when I stopped having to be bribed to get it cut (I just want to state that my hair's never again been as long as it was when I was nine, so I was completely right in making a big deal out of it).

Love,

Rosy Smith

I can't  fathom that it's almost May again! I definitely had less to do this time last year (Blogging has made me incredibly "this time last blahblah"-ish; I feel like I live in monthly updates) but it's okay, I'm not overwhelmed with hard work or anything, I'm just squeamish. Here's what's on my list (in no particular order):

Find a photographer/model for a fashion designer's lookbook shooting until Wednesday. See, it might seem like that's something I should know how to do but all I'm capable of is writing emails to agencies and asking for specific types. I don't know where to find talented people whose work fits the designer's concept who don't ask for money and live down the block. Right now, I'm browsing through questionable web communities where most sedcards consist of semi professional lingerie shoots with lots of soft lighting. Kinda running out of straws to grasp. I knew I'd get caught not getting more out of those networking events than the free popcorn.

Learn how to use a lighter without hurting myself. I tried to be really romantic last night but only managed to burn my thumb with an open flame. Twice. Who knew you'd have to tilt the candle instead of the light.

Be a good student and do the assignments I wrote out for myself because I get really mad when other people ignore my little To-Do-lists for them (I even use color codes for their names. I'm far gone) while at the same time I just groan every time I think about my own. I'm putting them off by writing this at this very moment.

Decide if I should splurge on heeled shoes or wait for it to get warmer and get myself some nice sandals instead. I mean, the shoes I could probably wear to my internship as well because I hear it gets pretty cold there, but I should also have some office-suiting flats because I don't want to lose all feeling in my toes by the tender age of 21. In conclusion, do I need three new pairs of shoes now? I almost want to think so.

Go to Australia and take a trip to the supermarket. I saw a documentary about a girl who got discovered as a model that way and never had to return to her homecountry because she's making such good money being a foreigner in the secluded Australian fashion world. And if that doesn't work, I can still marry a doctor who develops groundbreaking sun lotion for surfers in his free time (same documentary. The guy married a journalist that he took home on his bike - that could have totally been me, too lazy to walk).

Not be intimitated by the life masterplan a friend who's a year younger than me has confronted me with - it included his "own philosophy" that he wants to "carry out into the world", traveling by foot with his girlfriend who "has written a book", all while "blogging a bit, maybe going into journalism" (no, you can't do that. I study three exhausting years in a brickbuilding filled with lunatics to be able to do that, so don't you dare become successful before I do. I'm a nice person, by the way). I'm not even gonna mention the webshop he's programmed and the band he's involved with. I was already annoying all fellow commuters with my chirpy voice memo reply ("That sounds so interesting! I don't even know what to say!" Do you have all the immunizations you need?). Nothing new, as my public conversations are usually frowned upon. They prefer sad silence on the train.

May's gonna be good, lovelies. As soon as I find that photographer.

Love,

Rosy Smith

When I was graduating and supposed to be studying for my final, final exams, I once procrastinated by sketching out my dream loft in New York City. I have the draft somewhere but it's not exactly gonna win me an architecture prize; still, I can tell you exactly what I pictured drawing that. You're supposed to come into the main part of the loft, a wide space with windows to the floor all across the wall and wooden tiles. There is nothing in it, except for long, fluffy white curtains and a concert piano in the center, with a single rose on it (judging from experience, that rose is probably dead and there are about a million pieces of sheetmusic clattered around). As you turn left, you realize I actually thought of living amenities and have a sofa (no leather 'cause that's cold and slippery), a coffee table and some cupboards with a TV set. Oh and by the window, I have my desk to sit and write at. The kitchen is a bit hidden by a half-wall (what a word). In it, there's a free standing counter as well as a long table for dinners with other people, and everything will look sparkling new because I can't cook. On the right side of the main part, there is a more cozy corner with armchairs and a fuzzy rug where you sink in, and lots of bookshelves and a side window. In that corner, there also is the only door of the room that leads to the bedroom. Inside, there is a vanity table and one of these sunk-in window seats and a really high four poster bed and more shelves with personal things. Another door opens to the bathroom and the door next to that will get you to the heart of everything: The closet.
When I discovered the New York based storage service MakeSpace (they pick up everything you'd like to store, provide the storage location and bring your items back to you if you wish; all in all, it costs less than self-storage, I hear) I got the idea to describe that place in more detail, and since talking about myself and clothes is obviously a pleasure for me, here we go:

First of all, my dream closet takes up a whole room, about 24 square yards big. There's cream colored, soft carpet on the floor and a cream leather chaiselounge as well as one of these leather bean bags but formed like a cylinder (get it?) to lounge on while picking out what to wear: I always sit down in front of my closet because it can take me a while to scan everything. There is a small coffee table in here as well, with a glass top and sort of vintage-y legs, to scatter magazines and pictures onto.

On the wall across from the door, there is a huge mirror covering the whole middle part of the wall. On each side of it, there are lightly polished wooden racks (they might even be soft white) where all of my shoes, which will hopefully be plenty and luxurious, have a place. There are small glass doors every two lines, though, to avoid all that dusting.

All images are from Pinterest, none of them are mine (sadly)

Okay, onto the side walls of the room. On the left one, there are two grand wardrobes out of the same wood as the shoe racks. Between them, there is a rack of the same kind but with handbags instead (I'm not that into bags so one rack will do). Inside the left wardrobe there is a row of pants, a row of shirts and sweaters and tops and blouses and a long row of dresses and skirts (I'd say that 66% of the time I wear thights).

The right wardrobe is reserved for evening gowns, jackets and coats (those things tend to take up much room, hence the own closet). Turning to the right wall of the room, there are two cupboards. Above them, there are framed magazines and artsy ballet and fashion pictures. The cupboards hold drawers full of thights, lingerie, dance wear and lounge stuff such as teddy pants and fuzzy socks. When you go through the door and take a sharp turn right, there is a piece of wall leaving just enough space for a third wardrobe but with drawers instead of double doors. When it's summer, the winter clothes are kept there, and when the seasons start changing I gradually exchange the wardrobe's contents, too.

Oh, and there's a mini fridge as well for when my friends and I dress up together in my closet before going to a fancy event: I'll put sparkling wine and Oreos (cookies don't smudge) in there. And some loudspeakers need to be installed onto the walls and connected to the stereo in the living room area; Dressing is way more fun with good music to prance around to in front of the mirror.

Goodness, now I want to live in my hypothetical closet right away.

What would yours look like? Just imagining it could make you happy!

Lovelies - I'm in my Snoopy PJs right now, watching Home Alone 2 Lost In New York and munching on my Christmas chocolate and I think I just got lipstick all over my keypad. I've still got my makeup on because dinner and gift opening (we do that on Christmas Eve already) took a while. Come with me to witness everything from our traditional round of luggage tangram while getting into the car to me taking artistic pictures with my dress 'cause I'm irrevocably in love with it.

I didn't actually take pictures of all our traditional milestones, but I felt that not everything that's special to me would ring a bell with everyone, so a couple of snapshots:

Morning Read
Don't want to spoil my appetite
But these look so good....
Cozy Car Ride

That'll be my tree now

Just what is this supposed to tell me?

Hi.
Yes please.

Look at it! All these ruffles!

Couldn't help it, it's so tempting

Silent Night....

Always in for dessert

Have yourself a merry little Christmas....

Love,

Rosy Smith

Let's go back in time to November 30th, when I planned on writing this but forgot I had to be somewhere at eight and was way too tired afterwards (I need to go to bed at eleven the latest. I'm that old)....

Today's motto is "move b*tch" by Ludacris. It comes very handy while shuffling out of the train behind the slowest people ever (MOVE) when I'm already half an hour late to a fashion shoot (A group work, so the fear of being strangled with nude underwear is there). Or at the bus stop, where I'm contemplating to buy hand sanitizer for the visagist, who forgot hers. However, if I leave my frozen place now, it would be just my luck today to catch the next bus in an hour, so I stay. Praying for the bus to be early for once in its lifetime. I can't believe I'm this late when I didn't try to be for a change. I'm not sure what I'm even gonna be doing at the shoot, but being there would be a good start, I figure.

I was perfectly on time yesterday, when we launched our student magazine (Hell, it's called. Goes well for describing the process of making it, too). But the technic guy messed up, shining a red spot when no one was supposed to go onstage all the time and not getting our slashing neck motions. He especially didn't get it when my audio was playing, stopping it halfway through and shining the darn spot for so long that I finally went onstage, did my thing and left to stand in the curtains, loathingly glaring at him for the rest of the performance. My dad mumbled something about high school lit class presentation. Poor thing seems to realize just now that this whole school is one big high school lit class. We all wore artistic black, me in a sheer blouse and ballet flats, shivering all the way through but from the cold, not fear. Still, authenticly enough.

We did it. We shot the shoot. I hope I didn't mess up the poor model's earlobes when I fumbled with her earrings. She didn't scream in pain, but then again, she might have been too polite to do so. She was only fifteen and way more gorgeous than most fifteen year olds are. When I was fifteen, I had my first mixed party and decided that I would never invite some particular guests ever again because I realized I didn't even like them. This girl, she's shooting in underwear with a twenty-something guy with a great body all professionally. Oh well. It was good fun, sprinting into the lights in between shots, looking important while fumbling on the clothes, or the hair that fell out of place every five seconds, or screaming "clips! We need more clips", or standing behind the camera staring at the model the way I wanted her to stare at the camera, "Imagine you're in the arctis! You're so excited! But, like, only with the eyes!". I wouldn't want to have to do it as a job, because I'm too prissy to steam clothes and stuff, but assisting and confidently yelling "That's it! That's what I want!", that I can do.

....I got so soaking wet, I could easily pretend to have fallen into the Hudson. My hair is at its absolute worst - there're like seven streaks of rain-curled frizz on my head right now. See, we were forced to walk practically a hundred blocks in a constant drizzle to examine current fashion (meaning we touched stuff and mumbled "Oh, velvet" in the tone of a tv cook critically tasting someone's apple pie) and I had not considered that when I chose my teddy coat (that's not supposed to get wet), my boots (that are not supposed to be worn for hours of walking) and my bag (that's giving me a reason to go to the orthopedic) this morning. After reluctantly shuffling through Barney's with our over-excited teacher, a lady in running shoes bearing a linnen bag who has no fear of sales people asking if we need help (eg "buy something or I'll throw your lot out"), total doom followed.

"Let's go to Chanel", she chirped, and we all stood there on Madison Avenue like abandonded dogs, muffled into our coats, faces frozen in a frightened mask. She was serious. We trot in behind her, and I become urgently aware of my chapped boots, my non-existing makeup and the subsequent resemblance of a traumatized twelve-year old I am and my hunchbag walk due to my bag that's feeling more and more like a sack with cobbles every minute. Still, I try to remain dignified and haughtily let my gaze wander over the sparkling items, as if I was actually contemplating what I think is desirable. Same game at Gucci. Even though the carpet there is an actual dream - I wanted to lie down and sink into it so badly but that kind of behaviour, may be acceptable in an overcrowded Forever 21, not here, obviously. However, my teacher hasn't gotten the memo (I always thought that it was sent to everyone as soon as they touched an issue of Vogue. My bad) and tucks on everything and stretches the fine Italian fabric to the core - does she mistrust the legacy of good ol' Guccio? How dare she? We blinked hectically, morsing "We don't know her" to the security people hovering behind us (Gosh, they never trust anyone, but this time I kind of understood).

For the grande finale, we all tumbled into the sterile white glass castle of Dior. This time, our baggage didn't even make it to the stairs, because a young woman clutching a walkie-talkie threw herself in front of us, called something French to another employee (probably "I got them! womenswear is secure, repeat, womenswear is secure") and very kindly informed us that we weren't supposed to disturb the customers 'cause shopping is such an intimate experience and would we like to see the men's collection (where no one would be offended by the pitiable sight we are) instead?

You know, it is a bit demeaning that no one considered us customers. That's mostly our teacher's fault, who always darted into the store yelling "Hello, we're students from fashion school and just want to look around". If that hadn't been the situation and if I had only washed my hair and put on shiny shoes, I would've gladly wandered through all the shops I plan on raiding as soon as I have an adult job/marry rich (Joking. Mostly.).

The only great thing about my rank look has been that come that day, no one there will recognize me.

Love.

Just think, halfway through this month I realized that I didn't do a proper insight in September. Oops. Take this instead (the link is in the "this" in case that isn't clear).

However, here we are, at the end of October, otherwise known as Halloween! When you're reading this I'll be out and about in a ruffled skirt I've been wearing for this occasion since I was ten and a little witch-hat-tiara, following the invitation of a couple as - gasp - part of a couple myself.
I think I need a paper bag.
See, I really like to go out dancing, but I've never actually went with, well, a guy. I don't know how to dance around a guy. Or rather, I do, but that would be weird since we're already kind of involved so there wouldn't be much of a point in sparking his interest in me via my dancing - Gosh, that was probably the most unfeminist thing I've ever said. Scratch that. I'll just dance by myself, for myself only. I am my own happy place and all that.

Now that's settled, I'd like to formerly announce that it will be my birthday in 36 days (as of now, the 27th) and that I'll be 20 years old (oh, dear Lord) and that I have absolutely no clue how to savor this grand event adequately. Cocktails? Might be too noisy and dark to chat with more than the two people next to me. Dinner? Same thing because long tables. And a full mouth. A get-together at home? Not dressy enough. If people ignore my outfit guidelines, that is. It's a tough decision, lovelies.

Realization of the month: I was so much funnier in February to June WhatsApp conversations than I feel like I am in my current ones. My previous moments of inspired remarks actually made me laugh in hindsight like the self-invested person I am, whereas nowadays, I like to start dialogues by sending an unsolicited picture of a box of gum. That reminds me that I haven't gotten an answer to that yet. I guess I can't blame anyone here, though - I'd have a hard time to figure out a) how to respond at all and b) what's wrong with someone who doesn't have anything more profound to say than "Look, it's Mentos' bubblegum". Takes some time.

Anyhow, victory has struck in the hoodie harness! I'm free to show up to the shoot in something pretty as long as it's all-black. I'm overflown with joy. But more stupid decisions are threatening to be made regarding other projects: I don't yellingly interrupt the girl briefing our make-up artist for one second and she's already asking her to smear gel all over the model's face and buy red mascara out of nowhere. I swear that's how these things end up happening in editorials. The only sane person in the room probably sneezed and closed their eyes for a blink and suddenly, the stylists cut off all the pants in a fit of creativity and now we all have to deal with finding the right shoes to go with "culottes".

Fashion formula: Freezing before heating. Doesn't work as a rhyme but you get where I'm coming from; I need to remember every morning that I generally feel better in sheer nylons and heeled shiny boots than I do in thermo tights that catch all the cat hair and flat muddy shoes. Even though my body tries to convince me otherwise when I'm shivering in front of my closet at 6am, urging me to reach for the sweater I've been wearing around the house for five days, because it feels so much like my blanket. I'll regret that thought as soon as I run into the first person I know who hasn't seen me since high school and will now remember me forever as the short girl who suffered from a heatstroke on a train, rattling out "I have so much nicer clothes!" before collapsing in a huddle of stone colored wool and worn-out black jeans.
No, thanks. I'll take silk blouses and slit-up skirts over that anytime. The cold never bothered me aaaaanyway....

Stay warm by being hot stuff, lovelies.

Love,

Rosy Smith

....Let me start off by saying that all those things I told you to worry about might not necessarily have been a problem when I went away last weekend - but hey, how could I have known?

Well, lovelies, I had a pretty good time. So good that I was sincerely sad when we had to leave. Not that I expected not to be sad (I don't think I've ever been anywhere I was glad to leave from, so either my standards are really low or my vacations really good), but again, am I a future teller? As much as I didn't know about that, I didn't know that the city we've been to is an island (it feels so much cooler to go to an island, more exotic, than - not to go to an island, I guess), or that we'd live in a street where all houses were made out of bricks and full of small boutiques, one of them being in our building (could there be anything more suiting for me), or that there would be a big farmer's market in the central square every day (small town people have so much celebration stamina it's amazing), or that we'd go out to eat in this fancy historical restaurant with chairs in the powder room and then walk home in the freezing cold and write stupid things on sidewalks with chalk (don't even ask, I feel juveline already). However, those things turned out to be some of the best parts - there's a reason I like to be surprised.

A surprise of the bad kind, though, was the fact that I had to sprint through a museum they had mischievously constructed like a labyrinth so you may never find your way to the restroom twice and later run past the lovely powder room chairs repeatedly during the meal, irritating the staff and probably my company, although both parties were too polite to bring it up. Just marvelous. You might think there's no stigma around the topic of UTIs, but I have personally created one just for myself so I feel as bad as I would were I to have chlamydia WHICH I DON'T. Do I sound overreacting? I MIGHT AS WELL BE.

Let's change the topic to make me feel better about myself. Right now I'm unpacking my suitcase (only a week after I packed it, good score for me) and it takes SO much longer than randomly throwing in stuff, it's already annoying me. And I only took out two pieces.

Anyways, I proudly present to you Hoodies From Hell, the newest installment in our daily fashion school dramedy soap. Let's not be too dramatizing here (seriously, who am I trying to kid). However, I need to explain my general problem with hoodies to you. I bought the first black hoodie of my life when my English Lit class went on a field trip to Scotland and we all traveled in uniform. Our printed-on motto was "You can't repeat the past, old sport", which I actually found pretty witty ('cause Gatsby), and my friends and I sewed little Edinburgh themed patches on them. Still, as much as I - well, loved would be a strong expression, but let's say I'm fond of that sweater, and I've never worn it again. The second hoodie I bought was to match my whole grad class and it has our graduation motto (which was so bad I'm not telling you) as well as every single name of every single person I ever went to school with on it and that, my friends, is not something you want. Not at all. The best part about it was that on the day we were supposed to stand on our school's rooftop together and tearfully (and for the mostpart, hungover) wave our goodbyes, I wasn't even there. In fact, I was in the city applying to fashion college instead of wearing a stupid black sweater along with a ton of people I don't like who were doing the same. Looking at it from that angle, I might have even made the right decision that day! Oh well. Worth a try.
See, apart from the obvious - the fact that a black hoodie is in no way conform to my idea of a good look (or any look at all) and I do not care to spend money on clothing that I already know I'll never, ever in my life wear again, especially not if the word "hell" is printed on it, ruining it forever just like my former classmates' names -, those things are warm. Way too warm to be worn on the inside. I actually get a bit claustrophobic in them, somewhat menopausal. Why would I want to test that phase of my life I already dread right now, voluntarily?

The answer is, I wouldn't want that. So, when some of my current school peers suggested that we all buy a black hoodie and print our magazine's title "hell", on it in a gothic font and wear it for the editorial shoot, I flinched. I exchanged glances with another girl who didn't look quite ready to run out to the Dollar Store and get one, too. We said "Let's discuss it with the whole group", hoping that the absent ones are totally against that plan and help us outvote it. "It might be too expensive for some", we said, perfectly aware that there might be really, really cheap black hoodies out there. We're grabbing straws here, lovelies. Uniting forces. "But we're also wearing them at the magazine launch", said one of the hoodie supporters. "We are?", I gasped. WE ARE?
I guess I won't be making an effort to bond these days, either. Cause I'm definitely not wearing something I get hot, eg frizzy haired in, to a magazine launch. That's the final drawstring.

Rosy Smith

I'm bad at replying in time. I have an email-penpal who hasn't heard of me in so long that I am way too utterly ashamed to state how long exactly. I'm also incapable of finding the right words to start my next email with ("Hey, so, how's ....life? Do you still live in the same country as me? By the way, sorry it took so long, I was....doing everything but write to you, with no reason at all. Please still like me") and it gets worse exponentially every day.
Weeks and weeks ago, I realized that I let that annoying habit of mine slip once again, but this time, it really wasn't my fault - it was technology's! I casually browsed through my spam folder and, lacking any "ordinary" mails to read, googled one of the subject lines....and actually found it. And it wasn't something questionable or obviously weird but a real charity organization: Sreepur Village.

Basically,  Sreepur Village is a funds in the UK overseeing a non-political organisation called "Shishu Polli Plus" (that means Childrens Village Plus). It's a village in Bangladesh where destitute women and children are provided with shelter, food, clothing and an education. It was officially founded in 1989 by a British Airways stewardess named Patt Kerr who came to Bangladesh while working and developed such passion for helping out there that she devoted her life to it. I really like that story (read it in more detail here) and I really liked conversing with Emma Cole, my contact in the UK, who asked me to review some of the things that are made by those women in Sreepur Village and sold online in order to raise money for the organization. Emma was so lovely, even when the parcel with the samples got returned to her and she had to send it again, not to mention the fact that I didn't reply to her for a month after she first reached out to me (as soon as I had googled the whole thing).

Since this is my first post about something other than me (I wish I was kidding), I thought a lot about how to present the samples; I figured that I'd just show you how the products, apart from supporting an admirable cause, can be of use in your/my daily life.

This concept sounded way more complex in my head. Anyways, let's get started!

When I finally got the parcel, I was in my nightgown, so excited to unpack it on the floor that I almost forgot to take pictures, but here's my first impression:

It was so much! I hadn't expected so many different items. And would you look at the cute birthday cards - I'm still trying to figure out whom to give them to. So, to all my friends, if you get them, feel special. Oh, and the bookmark is lovely, too, because it's satin soft. I'm keeping that one myself - I must have a hundred bookmarks somewhere in my room but I can't ever find one, so I don't actually use one most of the time. This one is too pretty to lose, though, so I might as well use it!

I didn't even know what a shoe bag was until I got this sweet one - but it's really useful for carrying shoes in your suitcase without getting dirt on the clothes, for example. A way classier option than plastic bags (and better for the environment and everything).

Soo, the scarves are all hand loomed. Looming was a topic on my finals. Just throwing that out there. That's how I know they are made in plain weave, too, if you happen to be interested in that kinda thing for some fathomless reason. If you're not, just know that the scarves do not show any visible flaws, no holes or loose threats at all. They're all soft and nice on your skin, being made solely from cotton and silk, which is always a good sign, qualitywise.

The sheer beige one

The day they came, I had a close friend over and decided to use the one that seemed more like a shawl (more square and very thin woven, with a portion of silk) as a table runner. I like to pretend I'm having a dinner party any time someone comes over and use random fake flowers I find around the house to set the table, and I think the shawl gave everything a more decorative touch. It's got a fine embroidery, too:

In the late evening, it got cool outside so we moved indoors - and of course I forgot to take my fancy tablecloth with me. I was showing the rest to my friend when it hit me, and I ran outside and grabbed it, and thankfully, it wasn't ruined. So I'll let this slide as some sort of resistance test: Even though it was a bit damp, I hung it up over a chair and it's as good as new to this day. It's also my mom's favorite item, if you've been wondering.

The classic black and white checked one

I like the sixties-diner-vibe that comes with this one. It goes great with denim and muted colors and adds a touch of playfulness to a simple outfit like this with its pattern, as do the tights. I never thought that a scarf and a leather jacket would make for a cool combo, but I must say that I felt pretty cute in it!

The Cream One

This is my personal favorite piece! Cream is such a universal color that this would probably go with anything, especially with darker coats, but I wanted to stress that it has evening wear qualities: Perfect for fall, as it is that time of the year when you (I) desperately deny the fact that it's already freezing because you want to go bare-legged forever. A scarf may not warm your legs (except for when you drape it over them as a duvet) but your neck and shoulders and arms....and it looks really pretty, too.

The Bluish-Purpleish check

....I'm in a standing train and there is a couple outside my window and they keep kissing in an infuriating way. I'm all for passionate kissing at train stations, but they're just doing little dry pecks on the lips, not once, but always a couple of times in a row, which looks like chicken picking corn. It's positively disturbing.

How not to take a compliment

I told my English teacher, who is absolutely lovely, how I really hate graphic design (can't stress it enough) beforehand, but not in these words, so she wanted to cheer me up.

"You got an eye for color, though!"
"Well, I can dress myself."

At least she thought it was funny.
Is it obvious that it's time for finals?

I could swear I've just written about finals being hell but here I am, letting everything slide and trying to justify it by complaining about actually having to work for college. Like that's big news. I feel like I never even stopped doing that since last time. But, in proven self-absorbed manner, I'll grant myself this month for getting my ish together and pretending it never happened. I'm good at that. Ignorance, I mean.

There's some exciting stuff coming up, actually, so I'll make a real comeback!

I'd tell you about it but it wouldn't be half as fun that way so I won't, but I thought I'd tell you I will, 'cause then y'all have to stay tuned until I come around. Ain't I genius? I'll give you a sneak peak, though (now, who says I'm not nice): If everything goes well tonight, me and my loveliest friend will have something to look forward to a little later this summer – something far away....

Yes, I just declared my vacation planning to be exciting news for everyone. Self-absorbed, remember?

And keep in mind, everything is alright with you as long as you take your chance on proper kissing at stations whenever you have it.

Love,

Rosy Smith

Mayday Mayday (I just like to say that) and without further ado....

I want a tulle skirt and chunky heeled sandals. Just throwing it out there. See, I just realized that I could have made all my Carrie Bradshaw fueled desires come true way before this season seeing as it would have just been a totally trend-setting thing to do. It does make sense - why wouldn't anyone want to wear as much tulle as possible? As for the sandals, I originally wanted to get some simple stilettos with a heel that wouldn't kill me quite as soon as other pairs of mine do - but then I recognized that I completely lack a pair of heeled summer shoes which aren't evening wear, and that simply can't stay this way; so I went online shopping eg put a dozen similar pairs in my virtual cart and am now slowly throwing them out one by one, until I find the one I want most. Who says I don't have a system.

I'm halfway through Gilmore Girl's final season and I can see where this is heading and I'm not going to spoil anything but I'm a little upset (though not as much that I wouldn't still love it passionately) because it has me thinking how sad it is that two people can be so in love, and not just any kind of love, but real, true, meant-to-be love, and then....break up. Not be together anymore. And worse; be with other people and starting from the beginning and telling your jokes and stories all over again, but to a different person who has different eyes and a different reaction - and you love them, you really do, but you've told that other person you loved them, too, and you meant it as well. I know this happens again and again and to almost everyone at some point of their lives - but I still find it unbelievably tragic to think about.

I need to stop trying to paint my nails and doubletexting when I know better. In no specific order. I mean, usually no one is hurt in either process, but it would just look better if I avoided both.

Summer gets me very sunny-minded most of the time - don't you just love the feeling of bare feet on sun warmed stone terraces? Going places is good too; it can be the simplest (is that the right form? This will be bothering me) thing such as the cinema thrice, the riverside, to a backyard - as long as it holds lovely people, great conversation, and much appreciatedly, some food, all is well.

Just don't forget you have a bunch of projects due you didn't even start yet. Or rather, remember it some other day.

Love,

Rosy Smith

....See, I was going through my post drafts just now and everything I've written in the last couple weeks and didn't want to publish right away is semi serious (you know I don't do full on serious by principle) and I'm not in the mood to try and carefully formulate catchy phrases, so here I am, improvising.

This weird inner peace I wanted to tell you about but didn't because I'm so damn peaceful seemed like a good thing to talk about just a second ago. You might have realized by now that I get hysteric when a person I don't even like doesn't text me back within 12 hours. However, when a person I have some sort of dating thing going on with doesn't text me after 24 hours since we last saw each other, I'm like "Well. He wouldn't just suddenly stop liking me. I mean, why would he." It's irritating and unlike me and it's freaking out my friends, but I'm good, I really am.

I'm just applying a peel off mask - I decided that a 2013 expiration date is completely fine to use. It's an emergency, really; I have to leave the house tomorrow and do not feel capable of doing so if this mask doesn't drastically change things, like, right now. I should also redo my nails. It's a shame I'm so awfully tired even though I'm not doing anything particulary exhausting (except for ripping off that mask without ripping off my skin). One of my closest friends is a pre-med. I don't even want to know how she feels because it makes me feel bad (aren't I understanding).

Since I have chosen to prentend to be a fashion victim instead of saving lives, I can brag about going shopping and consider it work experience. At least, that's my definition of things. I got some lovely items I have been longing for, such as a fake leather jacket without a collar ('cause those make me feel icky). Finally I can wear T-shirts and jeans and make it look cool 'cause of my jacket. A red velours dress 'cause I'm a nineties kid who would wear her velours leggins and velvet top and choker together and not give a damn. A little black dress with shoulder cut-outs 'cause there's no such thing as too many black dresses. And a lacey top in that emerald color I like to think makes my eyes look greener. It's scandalous how these things satisfy me, but on the other hand, it's never hard to buy me presents, and that's something to work with, isn't it?

Another note on collars: Please, if you must wear them, don't fold them upwards. I can't be with anyone who does. Just saying.

Love,

Rosy Smith

....and I find myself in the store with a heap of clothes over my arm, none of which bear any similarity whatsoever to a white cardigan.

I'm not always this successful while shopping, but sometimes, once I pull out one item, they just keep on coming. I was walking through Zara (a place destined to satisfy my sudden clothes cravings) with my oldest friend, and she wanted to find a nice blouse, so out of solidarity (because you don't let friends face the struggle of changing rooms alone) I grabbed a sweater from the sales hanger. And a cardigan (black) because it was soft and sparkly. Oh, and another sweater that seemed a bit nicer than the first one. It had a turtleneck, which I normally despise, but it looked so cute along with its 3/4 lenghth sleeves....and right before we entered the changing room section, I spotted a grey sirt and pulled it off the rack just to have something to try on with the shirts I had. I felt like my dark jeans didn't do the trick; I prefer to see myself head to toe in something new, for the effect. However, though I only took it for the illusion, this skirt happened to be an absolutely great find; midi length, really tight and with a slit down the side.
I don't know if everyone does this, but I have an imaginary wardrobe full of pieces I wish I had, and this skirt has basically taken from there and flung into my way past the ten dollar racket.

So, in the end, I bought a fully new, classy outfit (turns out the turtleneck goes great with the skirt and the cardigan is one of these items who make everything look like you tried and dressed up, 'cause sparkles tend to give that impression). The well-known rush of happiness (and I am a material girl, living in a material world....) overcame me.

Then I went home and realized, once again, that I still don't have a white cardigan and I still need one in my life.

Rosy Smith
